Learn how to make a book resist pattern to create a complex vessel / 3D form. This is a great workshop for those looking to develop their wet felting / 3d vessel making practice to make more complex shapes in one piece. The techniques you learn during the workshop will equip you with the ability to create and employ multiple resists / layers, enabling you to develop your felt making skills for future projects such as hat making, puppet making, etc.
You will learn how to:
- Create a multiple 'book' resist template
- Layout the wool to cover the multiple page resist.
- Make smooth / seamless felt around the multiple page resists.
- Select where and how to remove the resist
- Work the cut edges to 'heal' the opening to remain open or closed.
- Choose to leave the inside of the form vacant or fill.
- Rinse, reshape, block and dry.
This workshop takes place at Silversoles Studio, 10am - 4:00pm, with a break for lunch
